Mechanical Engineer (m/f/d)

Focus: We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer who is passionate about making ambitious ideas real. You will jump straight into designing and building critical structures, housings, and test systems for our first wireless power transmission (WPT) prototypes. You'll also contribute to early designs of solar power satellites intended to deliver power from orbit to Earth-based users.

What you'll do:

• Design and deliver lightweight mechanical structures and integrated systems for our WPT demonstrators and future products.
• Solve structural, thermal, and materials challenges for prototypes and test setups.
• Lead hardware prototyping, fabrication, and on-site test integration.
• Develop thermal management systems, analyze heat transfer, and perform thermal testing.
• Collaborate closely with electronics and software engineers to ensure robust system builds.
• Contribute mechanical design concepts to SBSP spacecraft studies.

What you bring:

• MSc or BSc in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Hands-on prototyping track record in high-tech mechanical systems, robotics, payloads, or aerospace prototypes.
• Expertise in CAD design, structural/thermal tradeoffs, and integration.
• Experience in thermal analysis and cooling system design.
• Familiarity with rapid fabrication methods (3D printing, machining, composites).
• Drive to take initiative, own designs through build and test, and iterate rapidly.
• Passion for pushing hardware to its limits and building something that matters.
