🔍 Role Description

As a Platform Engineer at Pruna AI, you’ll help build and operate the platform our production systems run on. Working closely with the Software Lead, you’ll play a key role in shaping our infrastructure, authentication, and observability as we continue to scale.

This is a senior role. We expect strong production experience, sound technical judgment, and the ability to make infrastructure decisions independently while collaborating closely with the rest of the engineering team.

We’re building a lot, so even though we need to make sure our services continue to serve our customers, we are looking for someone who likes to build and improve our stack.

Your work will include:

Kubernetes & Infrastructure

  • Operate and improve our EKS clusters and the critical services running on them

  • Become responsible for our Terraform and ArgoCD setup, maintaining and evolving it as the platform grows

  • Work across our cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS, alongside several other providers)

  • Improve deployment workflows, automation, and the overall developer experience

Authentication & Access

  • Maintain and evolve our authentication stack: Authentik for users, alongside AWS IAM and Kubernetes RBAC

  • Design and improve authentication and authorization for both users and services

  • Build the access governance needed as we grow: who can access what, audit trails, and the controls enterprise customers and SOC 2 require

Observability

  • Build on and improve our existing Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry stack

  • Make latency, errors, and saturation across the request path easy to understand, with tracing precise enough to quickly identify where time is spent

  • Define meaningful SLOs and build alerting around them

  • Help engineers understand and improve the reliability of the systems they build

🤝 People you’ll work with

  • The Software Lead, on platform architecture, priorities, and day-to-day engineering

  • The CTO, on broader technical direction

  • Backend and ML engineers, who rely on the platform to build and ship production systems

🌟 What we’re looking for

Kubernetes & Cloud

  • Strong production experience with Kubernetes

  • Solid AWS experience and comfort working in a multi-cloud environment

  • Terraform and GitOps (we use ArgoCD) in real production environments

Authentication & Access

  • OIDC / OAuth2 and an identity provider such as Authentik or Keycloak (we use Authentik)

  • Authentication for services: machine-to-machine auth, JWT / JWKS, API keys, and service identities

  • Authorization models such as RBAC, ABAC, or OPA, and an understanding of multi-tenant systems

Observability

  • Hands-on experience with Prometheus and Grafana in production

  • Experience defining or operating systems using SLOs

You

  • You enjoy building reliable systems that other engineers love using

  • You communicate clearly and are comfortable working in a fast-moving environment

  • You take ownership of problems, but also know when to ask for input or challenge existing approaches

  • You care about making AI infrastructure efficient, reliable, and accessible

⭐ Nice to have

  • Experience operating multi-tenant SaaS platforms or public APIs

  • Exposure to SOC 2, ISO 27001, or enterprise security practices

  • Exposure to ML-serving infrastructure (you won’t be optimizing models, but we build the infrastructure around them)

❤️ Don’t tick every box?

We’d love to hear from you—even if you don’t meet 100% of the requirements.

We’re looking for someone with strong engineering fundamentals, production experience, and the ability to grow into new areas.

As Pruna AI grows, so will the engineering team. We don’t expect one person to be an expert in everything. We’re looking for someone who enjoys learning, sharing knowledge, and helping shape the platform while the team expands around new areas of expertise.
