Your opportunity

As the Testing Team product owner at New Relic, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our automated testing product line. Your objective will be to lead a team of skilled professionals to deliver outstanding testing solutions that set industry standards for quality, innovation, and customer happiness. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, advocate a culture of continuous improvement, and contribute to our company's thought leadership in the software development domain.

Note: The team is distributed and primarily remote.

What you'll do
  1. Product Strategy and Roadmap: Develop and implement a comprehensive product strategy for the automated testing product line. Build a clear and compelling product roadmap that aligns with the company's vision and business goals.
  2. Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to ensure successful product development, launch, and ongoing growth. Provide strong leadership and mentorship to ensure everyone is aligned and working towards common goals.
  3. Market Analysis and Customer Insights: Conduct market research and gather customer insights to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive opportunities. Translate this information into actionable product plans that address customer pain points and differentiate New Relic's testing products.
  4. Product Development and Delivery: Coordinate the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from concept to delivery. Work closely with engineering teams to prioritize features, run sprints, and ensure timely and high-quality product releases.
  5. Performance Measurement and Optimization: Define and track key product metrics, such as adoption, revenue, and customer happiness. Continuously analyze data and user feedback to make data-driven decisions and optimize the product's performance.
This role requires
  • 4+ years of Product Management Experience: Demonstrated experience in product management, with a proven track record of successfully managing and launching products.
  • Technical Understanding of Testing: Strong technical knowledge and understanding of automated testing, testing solutions, and the challenges associated with testing in modern software development environments.
  • Experience with Delivering SaaS Solutions: Previous experience in delivering Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions to market, with a deep understanding of SaaS business models and customer needs.
  • Leading Matrix Teams: Experience in leading cross-functional teams effectively, emphasizing impact and collaboration over formal authority.
  • Product Strategy and Design: Proven experience in driving product vision, defining go-to-market strategies, and actively participating in design discussions to shape the product's features and functionality.
Bonus points if you have
  • Previous Experience with Testing Products: Prior involvement in the development or management of automated testing products, demonstrating an understanding of the testing landscape.
  • Strategic Product Roadmap Creation: Experience in crafting strategic product roadmaps and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to execute on these roadmaps.
  • Outstanding Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in a concise manner, tailored to the audience's understanding and goals.
