Job Description
NIQ Geomarketing provides regional data such as purchasing power or other socio-demographic data on a granular level worldwide. The purpose of the role is to manage a substantial amount of data, perform data preparation, statistical analysis and quality checks to extend and update the NIQ Geomarketing regional market data product portfolio. In this position you will develop statistical methods for our products and improve processes. You are responsible for guiding Junior Data Analysts and mentoring them during their projects. You will participate in macro-economic studies that are published by NIQ Geomarketing.
As a (Senior) Data Analyst Geomarketing, you will have the following key accountabilities:
- Preparing data, performing statistical evaluations and quality checks
- Running data analysis and statistical modelling (in the statistical software R) for calculating purchasing power or other socio-demographic data
- Researching international regional data and exploring new data sources
- Updating the research database, systematically check for terms of use and document the quality of the data
- Documenting, supporting, and optimizing internal workflows
- Conducting macro-economic studies and market development projections worldwide
- Implementing and developing new products, methods and processes in the Geomarketing product portfolio
- Guiding and supporting Junior Colleagues by Mentoring and Pair-programming, conducting quality checks and keeping the standards up
Now that you know what a (Senior) Data Analyst Geomarketing does, what skills, qualifications and experience do you need?
- University degree in Geography, Statistics, Economics or Social Sciences any other related areа (preferably with an emphasis on statistics and data analysis)
- Solid base in location-related topics, Geomarketing and market research as well as economics and macro-economics
- Advanced skill in R (must) and the processing of geodata in R or Python
- Knowledge of econometric modelling and spatial statistics
- Advanced knowledge with spatial data analysis and/or GIS software - (e.g. QGIS)
- Macro-economic background and interest in market research and global market trends
- Strong analytical thinking skills
- Independent, accurate and structured way of working
- Distinct ability to work in a virtual team
- Very good knowledge of English (B2 – C1), additional languages are a plus
