Software Engineering Intern

At Emfas, we are building the future of AI-driven product catalog management. We aim to do this by gathering a small team of exceptional individuals who are all obsessed over building an amazing product. We are now looking for a software engineering intern to join us and take on real ownership from day one.

Who we are looking for

We're seeking candidates who:

  • Are fast learners who tackle difficult challenges head-on

  • Want to work across the entire stack and ship features end-to-end

  • Approach problems as versatile builders rather than narrow specialists

  • Are comfortable talking directly to customers to understand their needs

  • Ship quickly and find solutions rather than waiting for perfect conditions

  • Have solid programming fundamentals and curiosity about how scalable systems work

  • Are comfortable with uncertainty and excel at figuring things out independently

  • Can effectively leverage AI in their work

Prior internship experience, meaningful side projects, or strong open-source contributions are all good signals — but what matters most is that you build things, and build them well.

The role

As a software engineering intern, you will work side-by-side with the founders and our engineering team on problems that directly affect the product. This is not a shadowing role — you'll own features, ship them to production, and see how they land with real customers. You'll get the chance to:

  • Build scalable, reliable systems using Next, GraphQL, Go, Postgres and AWS

  • Contribute to agentic workflows that automate product data enrichment, classification, and optimization

  • Work closely with the founders on product decisions and tradeoffs

  • Learn how a small, ambitious team operates when shipping fast is non-negotiable

Strong interns have a clear path to a full-time offer.

Other

  • Tech stack: Next, GraphQL, Go, Postgres, AWS, Terraform

  • Location: In-person at our office in central Stockholm

  • Duration: Flexible, but we have a strong preference for at least 3 months full-time (summer) or a longer part-time arrangement alongside studies

  • Compensation: Paid internship with the possibility of equity for exceptional contributors
