The Opportunity

Coravin is hiring an interim, full-time Accounting Manager to support the global finance & accounting team. This interim position will initially be for 3 months with the option to extend as needed. This position will report directly to our Senior Director of Finance & Accounting, who (is soon to be) located in Spain,and will also work closely with and support our Assistant Controller based in Boston.

As a key member of the Global Finance Team, you will be working to ensure all tasks are completed on time, in line with Coravin’s processes and procedures, and to a high level of accuracy. In addition, you will work closely with the regional finance and accounting teams to ensure that the company is well positioned to support rapid growth. You will be responsible for providing robust, accurate financial reporting, overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, and supporting the accounting and finance teams. You will have a positive, can-do attitude, be driven to continually find ways to improve processes, and represent the accounting and finance team with professionalism and enthusiasm.

The Global Finance Team is a small, supportive team, with great visibility to senior management and is viewed as a key business partner. The wider Finance team is based in the US (5), France (1) and Spain (1). You will need to feel comfortable working independently, cross-functionally, and across time zones.

This position is remote and open to candidates in the United States.

Responsibilities:

Cash Cycle Supervision

Take responsibility for daily cash updates in Great Plains against banking information

Ensure that all cash transactions have been entered and cash is fully reconciled on business day 1 of financial close

Finalize consolidation of global bank accounts to one banking partner

Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Management:

Serve as point of contact for team members performing the AP and AR functions

Complete thorough reviews of invoice processing, collections, payment application, and vendor management

Ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions, reconciliation of accounts, and resolution of discrepancies

Financial Close Cycle - Month-End / Year-End Reporting:

Ensure compliance with US GAAP

Adhere to 7 business day close cycle

Maintain the integrity of the general ledger through accurate journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes

Skills & Characteristics:

Outstanding communication skills – the ability to articulate yourself clearly, dynamically, and effectively both in person/virtually in writing and verbally

People and team orientated, understand your behaviour has an impact on others, can build positive relationships and is emotionally aware

Demonstrates adaptability, is comfortable with changes in the work environment and navigates accordingly.

Detail orientated with excellent administrative, organizational, and prioritization skills; demonstrates the ability to multitask, work efficiently and manage time effectively.

Demonstrates strong analytical and/or creative skills.

Self-motivated and results orientated in a dynamic, fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.

Love of wine and interest in the wine industry is a definite plus.

Experience & Requirements:

Educated to degree level in Business, Accounting or Finance

3-4 years of progressive accounting experience

Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel (e.g. sumifs, pivot tables, etc.)

Experience of accounting software and ERP systems, specifically Great Plains

Attention to detail with an orientation towards repeatable and efficient processes

Flexibility while working across time zones
