The Opportunity

Coravin is hiring an International Accounting Manager, based in The Netherlands, to support the global finance & accounting team. This position will report directly to our Senior Director of Finance & Accounting, who (is soon to be) located in Spain, and will also work closely with and support our Assistant Controller based in the US.

As a key member of the Global Finance Team, you will be working to ensure all tasks are completed on time, in line with Coravin’s processes and procedures, and to a high level of accuracy. In addition, you will work closely with the regional finance and accounting teams to ensure that the company is well positioned to support rapid growth. You will be responsible for providing robust, accurate financial reporting, overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, and supporting the accounting and finance teams. You will have a positive, can-do attitude, be driven to continually find ways to improve processes, and represent the accounting and finance team with professionalism and enthusiasm.

The Global Finance Team is a small, supportive team, with great visibility to senior management and is viewed as a key business partner. The wider Finance team is based in the US (5), France (1) and Spain (1). You will need to feel comfortable working independently, cross-functionally, and across time zones.

In addition to being part of the wider finance and accounting team, you will also be part of the wider EU Team based in Amsterdam, which includes Marketing, Sales, Digital Marketing, Customer Service, and Customer Account Management. This position is hybrid, requiring a minimum of two days in our central Amsterdam office per week. There may occasionally be a requirement for international travel within the region.

Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Management:

  • Serve as point of contact for AP & AR team members.
  • Complete thorough reviews of invoice processing, collections, payment application, and vendor management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions, reconciliation of accounts, and resolution of discrepancies.

Financial Close Cycle - Month-End / Year-End Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP.
  • Adhere to 7 business day close cycle.
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger through accurate journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes,

VAT & GST Returns:

  • Collaborate with third-party providers to ensure accurate and timely submissions for VAT & GST returns to the proper authorities.
  • Support the Global Finance team with VAT-related queries and issues.

Compliance/Risk Management and Audit Assistance:

  • Stay abreast of relevant accounting regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements in the Europe and APAC regions.
  • Assist in global audit activities, particularly those across EU, UK, and AU regions
  • Implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks and ensure compliance with regulatory standards

Payroll and Benefits Administration:

  • Coordinate with our payroll processor (Rippling) and our internal HR team to process payroll and expenses for our entities located in the UK, EU, and AU.
  • Understand employee benefit programs for global entities, and partner with HR to serve as an employee resource for questions as necessary.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, improve efficiency, and enhance controls.
  • Implement best practices and leverage technology solutions to optimize accounting and financial operations.

Experience & Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level in Business, Accounting or Finance
  • 4 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years Dutch or EU experience
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel (e.g. sumifs, pivot tables, xlookups, etc.)
  • Experience of accounting software and ERP systems
  • Attention to detail with an orientation towards repeatable and efficient processes
  • Flexibility while working across time zones
  • Fluent in English and Dutch
