Head of Industrialization & Supply @InSpek
WHO ARE WE
InSpek uses optical microchip technology to sense multiple molecules, temperature, acidity, oxygenation, and more in real time, directly at the heart of biochemical reactions. Our sensors help produce medicines, food, and energy while reducing waste. We make sensors better, cheaper, and smaller!
Do you want to join a young, dynamic, ambitious, and VC-backed startup?
Then InSpek is the place for you!
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING
We are looking for a Head of Industrialization & Supply to own the industrialization and production ramp-up of our PIC sensing probes and OCUs (Optical Control Units — the housing/module controlling our sensing system). This is a broad, hands-on role at the intersection of optics/photonics, production management, and supplier coordination. You will work closely with our photonics, applications, and engineering teams to scale production while maintaining quality and delivery targets. You will report to the CEO.
RESPONSABILITIES
-
· Industrialization & Production:
o Take PIC and OCU products from validated design to repeatable series manufacturing: define the industrialization roadmap, the target manufacturing route, and the milestones and investment needed to get there.
o Plan production capacity: forecast demand, size and schedule production runs, and secure the partner capacity to meet them.
o Set up and maintain production tracking (yield, lead time, cost, non-conformities) and use it to steer decisions.
o Drive yield, throughput, and cost-per-unit improvement across successive production runs.
-
· External partner & supplier management:
o Act as the primary point of contact for external manufacturing and assembly partners (chip production, OCU assembly).
o Define technical and quality requirements with partners; negotiate timelines, capacity, and pricing.
o Own the PIC and OCU supply chain end to end: qualify suppliers, secure continuity of supply, manage lead times and inventory, and anticipate bottlenecks before they hit production.
-
· Project management:
o Plan and manage production-related projects (new partner onboarding, process transfer, scale-up milestones) with clear timelines and deliverables.
o Track budgets, risks, and dependencies across production projects.
o Coordinate production runs and delivery schedules across subcontractors and internal teams.
-
· Quality & documentation:
o Ensure production and quality documentation (protocols, traceability, non-conformity reports) is complete and up to date.
o Lead root-cause analysis and corrective action on defects and failures.
o Establish the quality standards regulated biopharma customers require — traceability, in-process controls, and ISO/GMP alignment as we scale.
COMPETENCIES / PROFIL
You are a versatile, manager with a solid technical grounding in optics/photonics and direct experience managing production with external partners. You enjoy working across technical and operational domains, and are energized by the challenge of scaling a deep-tech product from prototype to volume production.
· Production track record: 5+ years of experience in production management in optics, photonics, or semiconductor/microsystems industries
· Photonics/PIC fluency: Technical background in optics or PIC/chip-based products — able to speak the same language as engineering and manufacturing partners
· Outsourced manufacturing: Proven experience managing external manufacturing/assembly partners (technical requirements, quality, timelines, costs)
· Project management: Planning, tracking, cross-functional coordination
· Rigor: Organized and rigorous — comfortable owning KPIs, documentation, and traceability
· Startup mindset: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, across technical and operational domains.
· Communication: able to coordinate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers
· Languages: Fluency in English; French is a plus
· Nice-to-have:
o Experience scaling production from prototype/low-volume to industrial volumes
o Familiarity with fiber optics, PIC packaging, or optical module assembly
o PMP or equivalent project management certification
