Back Market is seeking a social media manager who will be responsible for developing and implementing social media strategies to increase brand awareness, engage our audiences, and drive customer acquisition. This role requires a creative thinker, strategic planner, and someone who is passionate about connecting with audiences. The ideal candidate will have experience developing a brand’s presence on social media channels, from planning to producing, implementation and management. To be successful in this role, you must embrace a startup mentality and be driven to create a new category in the Japanese market.

Responsibilities, Social Media Strategy:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with Back Market's brand values and business objectives.
  • Create and manage a content calendar that includes engaging and relevant content for various social media platforms.

Responsibilities, Content Development:

  • Produce content that not only engages and educates our audiences but helps differentiate Back Market
  • Collaborate with the creative team and agencies to develop multimedia content that are most effective across social media platforms

Responsibilities, Community Engagement:

  • Foster and grow Back Market's online community through active engagement and communication.
  • Monitor and respond to customer comments, messages, and mentions on social media platforms.

Responsibilities, Influencer Partnerships:

  • Identify and establish partnerships with influencers and brand ambassadors in the electronics and sustainability space.
  • Collaborate with influencers to create authentic and compelling content.

Responsibilities, Campaign Management:

  • Plan and execute social media campaigns to promote product launches, promotions, and other marketing initiatives.
  • Analyze campaign performance metrics and adjust strategies as needed for optimal results.

Responsibilities, Analytics and Reporting:

  • Utilize social media analytics tools to track and report on key performance indicators.
  • Provide regular reports on social media performance and insights to key stakeholders.

Responsibilities, Collaboration:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing/PR, Product, Operations and Sustainability, to deliver narratives to drive brand love.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and partners in Japan to maximize communication impact.
  • Collaborate and align with global creative and social teams to ensure global strategic consistency while advocating for the unique needs of the Japanese market to ensure local resonance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Social Media Manager, preferably in the consumer electronics or e-commerce industry.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Japanese.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box and generate innovative ideas.
  • Experience with social media management agencies, tools and analytics platforms.
  • Passion for sustainability and knowledge of the refurbished electronics market is a plus.
