As Product Director at Back Market, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our product strategy and managing a talented team of 10+ individuals, including three team leads.

Reporting to the Chief Product Officer and leading the Money Journey ; Platform; and Global Growth teams , you will drive innovation, foster collaboration, and contribute to the sustainable growth of our product.

Responsibilities

  • Money Journey Team:

Oversee the development and optimization of payment & financial systems, order management systems, and financial flows.

Ensuring seamless and secure payment processes, both payin and payout, for our customers and sellers.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive initiatives related to financial transactions and revenue growth.

Monitor and analyze financial data to make informed product decisions.

  • Platform Team:

Lead the product strategy for the platform, ensuring a user-friendly, impact driven and efficient experience for multiple users, including engineering and product teams at Back Market.

Work closely with engineering teams to ensure the right level of trust and safety in our technical stack, especially on authentication and authorization systems.

Drive transversal and transformative projects to keep our technical stack up to date and capable of answering our business needs in the future.

  • Global Growth Team:

Develop and execute strategies for global market expansion, and country adaptation, identifying opportunities for growth and scalability. Back Market is present in 18 countries and 3 continents and we need to make sure our product is fit for success in a vast geographic footprint while keeping our stack highly scalable.

Collaborate cross-functionally to align product initiatives with business objectives.

Analyze market trends and competitive landscapes to drive innovation and differentiation.

Key Hard Skills

  • Strategic Thinking:

Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy aligned with business objectives.

Demonstrate a forward-thinking approach to identify market trends, opportunities, and potential risks.

Implement data-driven decision-making processes to inform strategic initiatives.

  • Product Management Experience:

Showcase a solid background in product management with a track record of successful product launches and optimizations.

Leverage experience in driving cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products within established timelines.

Apply best practices in product development, including agile methodologies and user-centric design principles.

  • Team Leadership:

Manage and mentor a diverse team of 10+ individuals.

Provide guidance and support to foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

Oversee professional development plans and ensure the growth of team members.

Be a great communicator, adept at conveying complex ideas and strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Product Director or in a similar leadership role within a tech-focused company.
  • Strong background in Product Management, with a track record of successful product launches and optimizations.
  • Experience leading and managing cross-functional teams, including team leads.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
  • At least 10 years of experience in product management and leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated success in driving global growth strategies.
  • Experience in marketplaces is highly desirable.
