ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATE

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Adore Me is looking for a detail-oriented and driven Accounting Associate to join our Accounting & Finance team. This is a hybrid-role based out of our Tribeca headquarters in New York City. After its 2022 acquisition by Victoria’s Secret & Co. (NYSE: VSCO), Adore Me is looking for someone to help continue with our build out of a best-in-class Finance function. The ideal candidate will be inquisitive, communicate challenges faced effectively, and demonstrate complete ownership of their work product. Reporting to the Manager of Accounting, this is an opportunity to join a growing Accounting team and work cross-functionally across a wide array of areas within the business.

Adore Me is sold online and in Adore Me's six retail stores.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Support month-end close by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations related to numerous areas of the business, including revenue recognition, bank accounts, fixed assets, debt, accruals/prepaids, and others.
  • Assist in ASC 606 revenue recognition and maintain a thorough understanding of the company's revenue streams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
  • Identify efficiencies and automation in bank transaction recording and bank reconciliation processes.
  • Aid team in performing inventory purchase order receiving controls.
  • Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures / policies, including Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of support for the internal controls testwork and financial statement audits.
  • Responds to ad-hoc inquiries and analysis requests.
  • Investigate reporting discrepancies / anomalies and communicate issues as they arise in a timely manner.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • 1-2 years of experience at a public accounting firm in an audit or related role OR 1-2 years of experience contributing to the financial statement close process, which includes preparing/reviewing JEs and preparing/reviewing account reconciliations in numerous areas
  • BS degree in Accounting or related field (CPA path preferred)
  • Experience in consumer goods/retail industry is highly desired
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced in Microsoft Excel
  • Comfortable with new technology and/or experienced in our existing systems including NetSuite, FloQast, Shopify, Stripe, and Tipalti
  • Excellent verbal skills (written/spoken) both for use in communicating and active listening
  • Team player and detail oriented
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize in order to meet deadlines

EXPECTED COMPENSATION RANGE:

  • The anticipated salary of this position is $70,000-$80,000. The actual salary will depend on a variety of factors including the candidate’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, level of education, and other job-related factors.
