Your opportunity
New Relic Finance is seeking a top tier candidate to assist with the company's revenue management. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, self-motivated, team and utility player with a very strong working knowledge of revenue guidance including, but not limited to ASC 606. The role will be responsible for New Relic’s processes surrounding complex revenue transactions, evaluation of new contracting models, and project management of major initiatives.
What you'll do
  • Oversee advanced revenue processes, including documentation and revenue recognition functions.
  • Continue to streamline and develop scalable processes and policies for revenue recognition for complex transactions.
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Business Applications, Product Management, FP&A and Deal Desk to evaluate and implement new pricing models and deal structures.
  • Manage month-end accounting close process.
  • Understand, interpret, and review revenue contracts; identify deliverables and provide monthly revenue recognition journal entries.
  • Create/maintain robust SOX documentation and related controls.
  • Identify process gaps and independently develop and implement solutions.
This role requires
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of related experience with the Big 4 and/or a public company.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA is a plus.
  • US public company experience, particularly in a SOX-controlled environment.
  • Strong technical accounting background with a thorough knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Keen analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
  • Demonstrate ability to spearhead and project manage major programs to successful completion.
Bonus points if you have
  • Experience working for a company through a period of high growth is a plus.
  • SaaS and/or consumption revenue experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Zuora, SalesForce CPQ, and NetSuite preferred.

Estimated Base Pay Range: $ 135,000 - $ 169,000
The pay range above represents a reasonable estimate of the salary for the listed position. This role is eligible for a corporate bonus plan. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related factors such as an applicant’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
