Your opportunity
New Relic is looking for an experienced Product Manager interested in solving the service performance and observability challenges faced by today's developers and operators. This person will drive product discovery, strategy, and execution for new platform capabilities.
As the perfect addition to the team, you have a great product design sense and have prior experience in building delightful experiences. You are also technically savvy and can facilitate hard tradeoffs between time-to-market and building integrated, cohesive experiences. You have a few years of software product management experience in defining and shipping software infrastructure products to market, understand and develop empathy for infrastructure operator personas, curiosity and understanding of competitive landscape as well as traditional host and cloud infrastructure and the monitoring needs they all require. You empathise with developers and the reasons people are moving to the cloud and DevOps, and understand business strategy, constraints, and planning.
If you are looking for a highly visible and strategic individual contributor role and want to make a big impact in a fast-growing, dynamic company, this is an excellent fit for you!
What you'll do
  • Lead the definition and execution of new product and feature development
  • Work with UX designers and engineers to deliver new platform experiences that benefit all of New Relic
  • Build strong partnerships with internal New Relic teams as well as external customers to drive decision-making and influence product direction
  • Establish business metrics for your areas and use them along with key market research to drive decision making
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and other go-to-market teams to build launch and growth plans
  • Meticulously think through every aspect of the overall customer experience, putting users' needs first in the definition of requirements
  • Serve as key spokesperson for the business, delivering clear, compelling communications across New Relic and outside the company to garner any support required to successfully implement the business
This role requires
  • Experience product managing technical products built for developers
  • Experience building delightful user experiences for highly complex products
  • Ability to distill sophisticated topics and feedback into clear, prioritised, business or user cases and product requirements
  • Experience collaborating with agile development teams and handling a backlog
  • Experience working in medium-to-large software companies
  • Experience working on or leading enterprise/B2B products
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead across an organisation, communicate appropriately to various audiences including executive level, perseverance and determination
  • Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills, including data analysis
  • Background in SaaS and cloud-based software
  • Participation in all stages of the software development lifecycle
Bonus points if you have
  • Previous experience with data visualisation
  • Past experience building or using cloud services and platforms

We're looking for bold and passionate people to be a part of our mission to help every engineer do their best work, every day, using data, not opinions, at every stage of the software lifecycle. We'd love to have you apply, even if you don't feel you meet every single requirement. What's most important to us is finding authentic and accountable people who feel connected to our mission and values, not just candidates who check off all the boxes.
